Episode 8: Never Lose Hope

*Previously...Reptile has finally been taken down, but now Jami is clinging on to life...meanwhile, the storm has finally pass and the next morning, Dustin and Ivy make their way back to the island with a handful of groceries they had with them*

Ivy: Ugh, we're finally back.

Dustin: Took long enough. And the shipment should be here later today.

Ivy: Good thing we brought some of these groceries with us. I bet everyone's starving and are ready to pound us.

Dustin: Hah, I bet they spent the whole night partying while we were gone.

Ivy: Damn them, they probably played Truth or Dare or something.

Dustin: Hah, I bet so.

Ivy: Oh and we should tell Sindel that the bed should come in tonight...ugh why a king size bed?

Dustin: Something about Jami needing to stretch her legs out.

Ivy: *smirks* Suuure and I bet Kenshi would join her…Hey Dustin.

Dustin: Yea?

Ivy: Thanks.

Dustin: For what?

Ivy: You know, for last night.

Dustin: Oh yea. Well you are always welcome Ivy. You can talk to about anything.

Ivy: Yeah...well, let's go inside, I bet everyone will be grabbing the bags before we...eh, Dustin? You notice something different about the fort?

Dustin: .................*starting to turn red and talking through clenched teeth* Why is there a huge whole in the wall?

Ivy: I bet it's Scorpion trying to throw Wolfwood out of here.

Dustin: Ugh. Well someone is going to fix it.

Ivy: Well it's not us that's for sure. Come out, let's go inside.

Dustin: Right.

*They go inside and find (almost) everyone sitting around in the den*

Dustin: Hey, why the hell is the house trashed?!?!?!

Mika: *immediately stands up and runs over to him*Dustin! *embraces him and cries on his shoulders.

Dustin: Mika....

Ryu: Man, it was terrible last night....

Ivy: What *smirks* Did you guys get trashed again?

Scorpion: *glares at Ivy*

Dustin: Guys, what happened?

Sub-Zero: Reptile came back.

Frost: And he got Jami.....

Ivy: ...what do you mean...Why aren't you out there saving her???

Kilik: Well, we got her back, but......

Cammy: *sniff* She's in the room…

Dustin: But what?

Scorpion: Listen, her life is on the line, Reptile impaled her...we have to hope for the best.

Dustin: What???

Ivy: Where's Kenshi?

Sindel: He's in the room with her.

Cammy: Yea, he didn’t leave her side all night.

Frost: We all slept out here last night.

Dustin: *looks down at Mika, who is still holding him* Are you alright Mika?

Mika: *sniff* Yeah, I'll be fine...it's been a long night for all of us.

Ivy: Does Kenshi mind if Dustin and I visit her?

Frost: Probably not. I’m sure he’ll be happy you two are back.

Dustin: Alright. *to Mika* I’ll be right. Lets talk when I’m done ok....

Mika: *nods*

Sub-Zero: Ivy, do me a favor and check for her pulse for me.

Ivy: Right. Say, when did you become a doctor?

Sub-Zero: Well, after I quit the plumbing business, I went to medical school ^_^

Everyone: O_o

Wolfwood: ...eh, interesting...

Dustin: Anyway, lets go Ivy....

Ivy: *nods*

*They go into the room, where Kenshi is standing by Jami*

Kenshi: Glad to hear you guys are safe.

Dustin: We heard what happened. Is she ok?

Kenshi: ...I don't know...she's not responding right now...

Ivy: *checks her pulse* It seems pretty steady.

Dustin: I’m sure she will be alright. We're here if you need anything.

Kenshi: *only nods*

Ivy: Do you need a chair or anything?

Kenshi: No, I’m fine. I just want to be alone.

Dustin: Alright man. *pats Kenshi on the shoulder*

Ivy: All right. Let's go Dustin.

Dustin: Right. *follows Ivy out*

*Later that day, some of them are fishing for food*

Dustin: Hey Mika, did you catch anything yet?

Mika: Nope, not yet...what about you Wolfwood?

Wolfwood: Other than that tire, nope.

Li Mei: Awww, poor Wolfy. You'll catch something^_^

Wolfwood: ^_^ I bet I will soon big girl.

Sindel: You know, Jami had mentioned that she likes to go crabbing a lot and she was going to teach us how to crab.

Li Mei: Yea! That would be fun!

Dustin: Yea, sounds good to me.

Scorpion: Unfortunately, she's the only one who knows how...

Ivy: Hey Scorp, where's Sasha?

Scorpion: *starts to cry* Waaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Ivy: Umm, never mind...

Li Mei: Awwww, poor Scorpion....

Wolfwood: *To Dustin* This big guy who was here last night stepped on her.

Dustin: Ah, I see. *to Wolfwood* Man, we have to get him a girl.....

Wolfwood: *To Dustin* Don't look at me, he's terrified of me, I'm surprised he came fishing with us.

Dustin: Yea. I wonder if we can hook him up with any of the girls.....

Wolfwood: If I was here longer, I'd probably help.

Li Mei: HEY! I got something!!

Dustin: Uh oh.......

Mika: It better not be another eel.

Sindel: Oh yuck. I hope not.

Li Mei: *almost falls off the deck* AAAHH!! It's a big one!!

Wolfwood: I'll help you! *goes behind Li Mei and holds on to the fishing rod*

Scorpion: Wow, that thing looks huge!

*Everyone comes and helps Li Mei*

Dustin: O man, this thing is strong

*And when the object came out, they had caught...a shark!!*

Everyone: AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Ivy: Ill take care of it!

*Ivy uses her sword to kill the shark*

Scorpion: Eh...wow, we're definitely having big dinner tonight.

Dustin: Wow. That was surprising....

Sindel: Tell me about it.

Wolfwood: Good job big girl!

Li Mei: *blushes* Thanks Wolfy.

Dustin: So, uhh, since we caught dinner, wanna go for a walk with me Mika?

Mika: Sure

*So Mika and Dustin go for a little walk around the island.…*

Dustin: Mika, I am so sorry about the other day......

Mika: It's okay Dustin, it was my fault. I guess I just overreacted.

Dustin: No, I shouldn’t have done that stupid prank. I feel so bad about it. Can you ever forgive me Mika?

Mika: Yes Dustin. And I was so worried about you last night, we all thought Ivy was going to force you to brave the storm.

Dustin: Hah, nah, Ivy was sensible. But yea, you were all I could think about too. I promise Ill never do anything like that again. I, I love you Mika, and I don’t ever want to hurt you.......

Mika: ...you...you love me?

Dustin: Yea. You are all I can think about Mika. I want to be with you for the rest of my life......

Mika: *on the verge of tears* I love you too Dustin.

Dustin: Mika....*embraces her and gives her a long, passionate kiss*

*Meanwhile...

Kenshi: *Jami, please make it through..…*

*Then Sub-Zero comes in the room with a few medical stuff*

Kenshi: Thank you so much Sub Zero. You don’t know how much I appreciate this.

Sub-Zero: It's not a problem.

Kenshi: I know Jami appreciates this to.

Sub-Zero: I know...

*Sub-Zero goes over to Jami. There was a slit in the blanket that was made to part over to get to the wound*

Kenshi: Do you need me to help with anything?

Sub-Zero: No, I'm just doing a checkup to see how the wounds are healing. *Unwraps the bandages revealing her wound*

Kenshi: *starts to think about Reptile* If only I could have stopped him......

Sub-Zero: *looks at Kenshi* I'm sorry I didn't let you get to Reptile first...he was about to turn her into a raptor and it was now or never...

Kenshi: Yea. It was my fault though. I was acting careless...

Sub-Zero: Every warrior can get careless...it happens *looks at the wounds* Well her intestines seems to be coming back together all right thanks to the herbs...

Kenshi: Good......

Sub-Zero: You know what's creepy...

Kenshi: Hmm?

Sub-Zero: If Reptile had gone a couple of more inches down, she would have lost the ability to bear children.

Kenshi: O_O Why did you have to tell me that?

Sub-Zero: I'm saying that it's a fortunate thing because if Jami wanted children and she wakes up and finds out she no longer can, it can be a devastating thing for a woman...

Kenshi: Yea. How true.......

*After a few more minutes, Sub-Zero closes the wound and put new bandages over it*

Sub-Zero: We still have to hope for the best.

Kenshi: Yea.........

*Later that night...

Dustin: Mika, I think we should head back to the camp now.....

Mika: Yeah, I bet everyone's eating our food ^_^

Dustin: Haha. Yea. But I would rather be with you all night than go back. But we do need something to eat......

Mika: Yeah, let's go.

*They head back to the fort where most of them are already eating their shark meal along with a few clams Sindel managed to catch before. They walk in the room, holding hands*

Dustin: Hey guys, did you leave any for us?

Frost: We sure did, it's on the counter.

Li Mei: Yea! Get your food and come sit by me you two. You are sooooo cute together^_^

Mika: Ummm, sure...

*They sit by Li Mei*

Ryu: So how was your day with Dustin, Mika?

Mika: It was wonderful ^_^

Dustin: Hehe, yea, it was great ^_^

Kilik: Hehe, that’s cool.

Mika: Hey, where's Kenshi?

Ivy: He is still by Jami. Poor thing. I’ve never seen him so emotional before. Heh, reminds me a bit of me......

Cammy: But he has to eat some time, you know.

Dustin: Hmmm. I doubt he will eat anything. But someone should take a plate to him.....

Scorpion: Already did, he didn't say anything though.

Li Mei: Awww, that’s so sad, isn’t it Wolfy?

Wolfwood: Yeah it is, like I said, we have to hope for the best.

Dustin: How deep was the cut?

Sub-Zero: It went through her back. It's fortunate that's she hasn't...you know...

Ivy: How terrible. Damn, if only Dustin and I were here, we could have prevented it. I would have made the monster bleed.......

Frost: Subbie already did that.

Sub-Zero: But I was too late.

Cammy: Well, at least he was stopped. What of he would have used that jewel thingy?

Sindel: Ugh, I don’t even want to thing about that......

Frost: Me either.

Wolfwood: Listen guys, I know it's something we don't want to think about, but if she does, you know, we have to accept the fact that it was her time and there was nothing we can do about it...

Dustin: Yea. I guess. But what about Kenshi? *wraps his arm around Mika and holds her close*

Sub-Zero: God, I don't know...it's going to be really rough on him for a long time...They've known each other a couple of years, but I never realized how fond he was of her until we came here.

Dustin: Hehe, I knew Jami liked him, but I didn’t know Kenshi felt that way about her....

Scorpion: Sasha...*sniff*.......

Sindel: For crying out loud Scorpion, it was just a rock!

Scorpion: Shut up! She wasn’t just a rock, she was MY rock!

Cammy: Oooo, poor Scorpion. *she goes and gives him a hug*

Kilik: *turns red with anger*

Sindel: *sigh* I'm sorry Scorpion, I'm really frustrated...I really want Jami to be okay...

Scorpion: Its ok Sindel. *Cammy is still hugging him*

Kilik: Grrr...

*The next day...

Frost: Hey Ivy, want to help me cook breakfast?

Ivy: Sure, what should we make?

Frost: I was thinking omelet’s...

Ivy: Mmm, we haven't had those yet. Let's go for it!

Li Mei: *jumps in the room* Oh Oh Oh. Let me help please!^_^

Frost: *sigh* Oh all right...

Ivy: But don't drop anything PLEASE!

Li Mei: I promise! ^_^

*A little while later, Sub-Zero walks into the sleeping quarters with more medical stuff. He finds Kenshi still with Jami, the plate of last night's dinner uneaten*

Sub-Zero: Kenshi?

Kenshi:...............

Sub-Zero: *sigh* *This is not going to be an easy thing to do, but i have to if we want her to live...* Listen Kenshi, I have to perform a procedure to make sure that her inner organs are recovering normally...it requires a lot of concentration and...I have to ask you to step out, but just for a little bit...

Kenshi: ...............alright........

Sub-Zero: Anyway, the girls are making omelets this morning...you should go eat...

Kenshi: Yea..........

*Kenshi goes out to the dining room*

Scorpion: *at the dining room with everyone else* So then I tell him, 'yo man, you robbed my eight bucks!' then I punched him!

Ivy: Ehh, how exactly did he get your "eight bucks" again?

Scorpion: When I punched Cage, eight bucks fell out of his pockets and I took them ^_^

Frost: You punched Johnny Cage, the rich actor, and you only took eight bucks?

Scorpion: Oh and I was watching his awful movie 'Ninja Mime'

Dustin: Ugh, don’t remind me of that cheese......

Sindel: I’m glad I never saw that movie. I heard he fought a giant slice of pizza....

Cammy: So Scorpion what did you do next? *then notices Kenshi* Oh, hey Kenshi. Do you want some omelets?

Kenshi: ......I guess......

Ivy: Ill go get you a plate dear.

Kenshi: *Sits down at the table*

Scorpion: How ya feeling, Kenshi?

Kenshi: alright, I guess. I just want her to wake up.........

Wolfwood: We all want her too...

Scorpion: DON'T MAKE ME SPEAR YOU PRIEST!!

Everyone: O_O

Dustin: Uhh, anyway, I’m sure she will be alright Kenshi. Just hang in there.

Kenshi: Thank you Dustin. I will.....

Ivy: *comes in with the plate* Here you go love. I made it just for you.

Kenshi: *takes his plate, and smells his favorite food*

Kenshi: Ivy, you didn’t have to do this....

Ivy: I wanted to, your belly must be begging for food...

Kenshi: Thank you so much. *Kenshi starts to eat*

Scorpion: So then I said to the guy "I’m Rick James Bitch" and he was like, "Aww gangsta, you be playa hatin!"

(A/N: That last line was written before Rick James’ death…RIP)

*Meanwhile in the sleeping quarters...

Sub Zero: Almost done...........There! Well, I did the best I could, so its all up to her.

*Then…*

Jami: *raspy voice* Subbie...that was barely a tickle...

Sub-Zero: O_O Jami!?!?!?!

Jami: Sup?

*Back in the dining room.…*

Kenshi: *senses something in the sleeping quarters. He then gets up and runs in*

Ivy: What the...

Ryu: What’s wrong with him?

Mika: I have a bad feeling about this!

Dustin: I think we should follow him....

Sub-Zero: *runs out* No, don't!

Kilik: Sub, what happened?

Sub-Zero: *sits down and smiles* She's awake...

Cammy: Finally. So she’s ok then?

Sub-Zero: I believe so, she'll need some rest for a few days. Now, I suggest she and Kenshi should be alone for a little bit.

Dustin: Yea. I’m so glad she is ok, aren’t you Mika?

Mika: ^_^ Yeah, very glad. She's going to be okay...thank you Sub-Zero.

Sub-Zero: Not a problem...

*Meanwhile...

Kenshi: *slowly walks over to Jami* Jami, you’re awake.......

Jami: *smirks* Yeah...

Kenshi: Jami, I was so worried about you........

Jami: *places her hand on his face* It's okay now...I'm gonna be okay, I just need some rest for a few days.

Kenshi: I’ll be here for you Jami, just ask. I won’t let anything like this happen again.

Jami: I know, but please know that one can't be protected all the time...

Kenshi: Yea, but I will do my best Jami. I need you with me my love.

Jami: I know you do. *begins to sit up*

Kenshi: Jami, you shouldn’t get up....

Jami: No, I'm not getting out of bed, I wanna sit up.

Kenshi: Ok. *leans over and gives here a kiss*

Jami: *returns the kiss and embraces him*

Kenshi: I love you so much Jami. I won’t ever leave you.....

Jami: I love you too.

Kenshi: So, do you want me to get you something to eat, my love?

Jami: No, I'm not hungry...but you how what stinks about not getting out of bed?

Kenshi: What’s that my love?

Jami: *chuckles* I gotta pee.

Kenshi: O_o. Umm, I think Sub left you a bed pan right here......

Jami: Tee hee, oh yeah...sorry I scared you there, baby.

Kenshi: Haha, its ok sweety. If you want, I could levitate you while you go. *smirks a little*

Jami: Eh, it's okay...hmm, I think I can get up *starts to get out of bed*

Kenshi: *holds her hand while she gets up*

Jami: *on her feet* Ahh, I knew I could do this.

Kenshi: Be careful please Jami. Do you need help to get to the bathroom?

Jami: Hmm, let's see *takes one step, but ends up losing her balance*

Kenshi: *catches Jami, and holds her in both arms* I’ll carry you there sweety. *smiles*

Jami: All right...but try to pass the others...I want it to be just you and me for a while...

Kenshi: Of course. *takes Jami to the bathroom, and manages to get by the others without being noticed*

*Later that night...

Frost: So Mika, since its just us girls again, you have to tell us all about how Dustin made up with you.

Li Mei: Yea! What happened Mika? Did Dustin lay on the charm?

Mika: Well...

*Then to the girls surprise, Jami walks into the room, grabbing on to various things to keep her balance*

Ivy: Jami! *she runs over to Jami and helps her to a futon*

Sindel: Dear, you should be in bed.

Cammy: Yea Jami, you should be resting.

Jami: You should know me by now *grins* I'm impatient.

Li Mei: Awww, I bet Kenshi was so happy when he found out you were awake ^_^

Jami: Very happy, we spent the last few hours talking.

Frost: Aww, how sweet. Tee hee, I can’t believe how much romance is flying around here.

Ivy: Tell me about it.

Li Mei: Speaking of romance, Mika still has to tell us about her and Dustin!

Frost: Yea Mika, what happened?

Mika: Well...*tells the whole story*

Li Mei: Wha, he said that he loves you? Awwwwwwwww ^_^

Mika: Yeah, we really have something special.

Frost: Wow, I’m so happy for you two ^_^. Now lets just hope Dustin doesn’t pull anymore stupid pranks.

Ivy: Well all know that will happen eventually.

Sindel: Well, we will just have to teach him another lesson if that happens. And that goes for all the boys.

All Girls: *Nod*

Li Mei: Haha, we'll let Mika take care of Dustin if he does anything stupid!^_^

Frost: Yup.

Jami: *smirks* *sigh*

Cammy: Jami, what’s wrong?

Jami: *looks up* Ummm, well I've been thinking a lot since I woke up...

Ivy: What have you been thinking about dear?

Jami: Well, I've always been a tomboy, you know?

Sindel: Yes, you don’t try to hide it much.

Frost: Tee hee.

Jami: And when I hired Kenshi, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Kilik to be my personal bodyguards against evil, I looked up to them as my brothers and they always looked at me as either a sister or one of the guys...

Cammy: So, whats the problem?

Jami: Well, with me and Kenshi...it was always a bit different...

Ivy: How so Jami?

Jami: Like we didn't see each other as either a bunch of guys chillin or even siblings...it was more...He's the only guy who ever understood me during my later teen years...

Li Mei: Awww, you two have such a connection.

Jami: *nods* Yeah...and eventually, I feel in love with him, but I always thought it was just a faze...and when I was on that bed that stormy night I realized...it was real...

Sindel: What did you realize deary?

Jami: That I really do love him...it wasn't just a faze...it was a real true feeling...

Cammy: Aww, Jami.....

Jami: ...and it scared me because...I never felt that way about anybody before...

Sindel: Jami, everyone feels that way the first time they feel true love. You have nothing to be scared off.

Jami: I know...it's just that when he told me he loved me...I felt so much true love right there......to be honest...it was the first time anybody had told me they loved me...

*Then a couple of tears fall from her eyes*

Jami: *quickly wipes them* Damn...I hate that...

Li Mei: Awww, Jami. *goes to give her a hug*

Jami: *slowly returns the hug with a slight grim look on her face*

Cammy: Hah, Jami, we are all happy for you. So much love, it makes a girl light headed.

Jami: Yeah...but please understand that I lived a dark past...it's something I don't want to talk about now, but I will share one day...so I can be a bit cold sometimes...

Ivy: Dear, you needn’t worry about your past. It’s best just to live in the present.

Jami: ...*smirks as she thinks about Kenshi* Yeah...you're right...

Mika: Hey, I have an idea!

Frost: What’s that Mika?

Mika: After Jami recovers and is able to walk normally again...LET'S HAVE A MAKEOVER PARTY!!!

Sindel: Haha, that is a great idea Mika!

Ivy: It's lovely!

Li Mei: Yay! I can't wait!

Cammy: Yea! Sounds really fun!

Frost: I'm in for that!

Jami: O_O *Oh God no...*

*Meanwhile...

*The boys are chilling on the beach watching and listening to the waves*

Dustin: Man, I just can’t stop thinking about Mika.......

Sub-Zero: Yup, things are really heating up around here!

Ryu: Heh, yea its getting pretty emotional.

Scorpion: Well, I'm happy to say that I'm over Sasha's sad demise...I really need a real woman.

Kilik: *thinks about Cammy and Scorpion kissing*

Wolfwood: So, um, Jami's all right now...what's all up now?

Kenshi: That’s a good question. I don’t think any of us know what will happen next.

Sub-Zero: Yeah, I guess whatever happens, happens...say Kenshi, how are you?

Kenshi: Relieved. So relieved…

Wolfwood: I could imagine...

Scorpion: STOP LYING!!!

Dustin: Haha, you never stop Scorpion.

Kenshi: *smirks*

Scorpion: Grrr…

Ryu: So anyway, what are we going to do tomorrow?

Dustin: I guess we can make the final repairs to the house, and set up the new bed.

Scorpion: O! O! I know!

Kilik: What’s that Scorpion?

Scorpion: Let's go back to Bush's Country tomorrow...AND HAVE A BACHELOR PARTY!!!

Dustin: Ummm, hehe, you guys can do that, but Id rather stay here with Mika......

Scorpion: No dude, you're coming...I think they're gonna have a makeover or something...bet they want you to join *smirks*

Dustin: O_o Hehe, I guess you’re right. But we fix the house first. You guys did a number on it while I was gone.

Sub-Zero: Yeah, blame it on Astaroth.

Ryu: Man, that guy was huge!

Kilik: Yea, luckily he didn’t have a chance to really hurt anyone....

Scorpion: Except for the house!

Kenshi: Yeah...but Reptile did...

Dustin: Well, that lizard is just a smelly corpse now. So no worries.

Kenshi: Yeah...Sub-Zero, I can't thank you enough for everything...I owe you, like, 40 packs of beer.

Sub-Zero: Hah, don’t worry about it buddy. We're all in this together.

Scorpion: So, when should we leave for the party???

Dustin: As soon as the camp is finished.

Wolfwood: Yup.

*So they get up and head to get some tools to fix the house…*
