Chapter 6: The Date

(It’s Saturday night at Capcom University; everyone is out pretty much doing his or her own thing. Right now Ken Masters walks through the halls heading towards Chun-Li and Sakura’s dorm room ready to pick up Chun-Li for their date, he is decked out in a black dress shirt, black slacks and dress shoes, and a white tie. He whistles his stage music from Street Fighter II as he walks down the halls. All of a sudden, security guards Jill Valentine and Leon S. Kennedy run up to Ken.)

Jill: “Hold up, what are you doing wandering the halls?”

Ken: “Uh, I’m going on a date.”

Leon: “Yeah right, you probably just here to cause trouble criminal.”

Ken: “I’m not a criminal, I’m going on a date.”

Jill: “How can we be sure of that?”

Ken: “Because I’m a student here you crazy bitch!”

Leon (smacks Ken): “Watch your mouth boy!”

Miguel: “Hey guys, I thought I saw a criminal doing yoga out by the fountain.”

Jill: “Ok, we’ll let you go, but you better watch your butt.”

(Leon spins around trying to look at his own butt.)

Jill: “Not you Leon, let’s go!”

Leon: “Yeah, it’s impossible for a guy to watch his own butt.” (A/N: Good Burger reference.)

Ken: “Hey, thanks a lot man, Jill and Leon have gone crazy since there hasn’t been much criminal activity around here.”

Miguel: “Yeah, and Leon is a dumbass, makes me wonder how he even became a security guard, oh well, let’s get back to the story.”

(Ken finally arrives at Chun-Li and Sakura’s dorm, he knocks on the door, about ten seconds later, Sakura answers the door.)

Sakura: “Hey Ken, wow you look spiffy today.”

Ken: “Yeah, I’m here to pick up Chun-Li, is she ready?”

Sakura: “No, she’s still in the shower, using that Herbal Essences crap.”

Chun-Li (from inside the shower): “Oh yes! Yes! YES!

Miguel: “Oh my God.”

Sakura: “What, you mad about something?”

Miguel: “Yeah, I hate those damn Herbal Essences commercials!”

Sakura: “Right so, anyways, come on in.”

Ken: “Ok.”

Chun-Li (from inside the shower): “Wait here, give me two minutes.”

(Thirty-five minutes later, Chun-Li comes out of the bathroom looking freaking drop dead gorgeous. She decided for a change to wear her raven black hair down as it flowed across her back. She was clothed in a red silk Mandarin dress with gold roses embroidered on it and red high heels. Indeed a very sexy look for her.)

Ken: “Hey Chun-Li, you look uh…sexy!”

Sakura: “Ken, aren’t you mad at her for taking so long?”

Ken: “Sakura, if a girl spends a long time in the bathroom to make herself look extra sexy for her date, then it’s worth it.”

Sakura: “I see. That’s probably why Ryu never got angry when I took a long time to get ready for a date.”

Ken: “Ok, so you ready to go babe?”

Chun-Li: “Yes I am.”

Sakura: “Have fun you two!”

(Ken and Chun-Li leave the dorm and head over to the parking lot, Ken helps Chun-Li into his car and then they drive off.)

Chun-Li: “So where are we going first?”

Ken: “Well I’m hungry, so I’m gonna take you to the fanciest restaurant I know.”

Chun-Li: “How fancy is it?”

Ken: “So fancy I can’t even pronounce the name of the restaurant.”

Chun-Li: “Wow, it’s that fancy?”

Miguel: “Yeah, even I can’t pronounce the name of the restaurant.”

Chun-Li: “The author can’t pronounce the name? It must be good.”

Author’s Note: Sorry, I couldn’t think of a good restaurant name.

Ken: “Yeah, I’m sure you’ll like it a lot.”

(About ten minutes later, they arrive at the restaurant. Ken parks the car, then helps Chun-Li out of the car, after that, the two head into the restaurant with the unpronounceable name. Upon entering, the manager walks over to the two and greets them warmly.)

Manager: “Hello, nice to see you, my name is Lyrix, welcome to this restaurant with a name I can’t pronounce.”

Chun-Li: “The manager can’t pronounce the name, that’s sad.”

Lyrix: “Hey, I didn’t ask to be the manager, I applied for a job here and they made me manager!”

Ken: “Ok, well I’m Ken Masters, I have reservations for tonight.”

Lyrix: “Ah yes, come with me and I’ll find you two a table.”

(Lyrix shows Ken and Chun-Li to their table, after that, he heads into the kitchen to get the waiter, Kirby.)

Lyrix: “Kirby, I want you to take that young couple’s order over there (points to Ken and Chun-Li’s table) and don’t eat the order this time!”

Kirby: “I was hungry last time boss.”

Lyrix: “We have a table of food over there just for you!” (He points to a table with a shitload of food on it, a neon sign above the table flashes saying “This food is for Kirby.”)

Kirby: “I didn’t know about that table.”

Lyrix: “That’s cuz you were too busy trying to eat Mr. Yoshi’s order when I told you.”

Kirby: “Uh, I’m just gonna go take the order now.”

(Kirby waddles over to Ken and Chun-Li’s table ready to take their order.)

Kirby: “Ok you two, what’ll you have?”

Ken: “I’m gonna have a lobster.”

Chun-Li: “Yeah, me too.”

Kirby: “Ok, I’ll be back with your orders soon.”

(Kirby gives the order to the chef, Heat Man; he grabs two lobsters and prepares to cook them.)

Lyrix: “Heat Man, don’t burn the food this time!”

Heat Man: “Aw, but I love the smell of flames and burnt fish.”

Lyrix: “I don’t care, the customers don’t like that smell.”

Heat Man: “You’re the manager.”

(Heat Man cooks the lobsters to perfection with his Atomic Fire technique, Kirby puts them both on a tray and sends them over to Ken and Chun-Li’s table.)

Kirby: “Here you go, enjoy your lobsters, before I do. Heh! Heh! Heh!”

(Ken and Chun-Li begin to eat as well as have a conversation, about five minutes into the conversation and eating, Akuma comes up to the table dressed up as Cupid. He looks down at Ken and Chun-Li and smiles slyly.)

Akuma: “Ah, young love is in the air, let me sing you two a little song.”

(Akuma begins to sing horribly in Japanese. Everyone covers his or her ears to muffle the atrocious sound of Akuma’s singing.)

Heat Man: “This is burning my ears!”

Kirby: “I’m gonna lose my lunch!”

Lyrix: “This is worse than when Zangief lost his shorts at the beach this summer.”

Miguel: “Please don’t put that image in my head, I’ll be traumatized!”

Lyrix: “Sorry.”

(Lyrix walks out and taps Akuma on the shoulder; Akuma stops singing, thank God, and turns around to face Lyrix.)

Ken: “Thank God, someone stopped the madness.”

Lyrix: “Excuse me, what are you doing?”

Akuma: “Can’t you see I’m trying to set a mood?”

Lyrix: “Yeah, but can’t you read.” (Lyrix points to a sign saying No College Deans Allowed.)

Akuma: “Aw weak, but I can’t go home in this fruity looking getup.”

Ken: “Then why did you wear it?”

Miguel: “I made him do it, but he’s right, him in a tutu is not a pretty sight, I’ll fix that.”

(I use my author powers to change Akuma’s outfit, he is back in his trademark black gi.)

Akuma: “This’ll do nicely, see ya!”

Chun-Li: “That was very disturbing.”

Ken: “Maybe this’ll be better. Hey Brian, get out here!”

(Singer Brian McKnight walks out.)

McKnight: “Is it time for me to sing for your date?”

Ken: “Yeah, do your thing man.”

McKnight: “Ok, she better like this.”

(Brian McKnight sings his song “Back at One”)

Chun-Li: “Oh Ken, you got Brian McKnight to sing my favorite romantic song for me?”

Ken: “Yeah, it wasn’t easy, but thankfully Miguel helped me out.”

Chun-Li: “Do you do this for all of your dates?”

Ken: “No, you’re the first, and you deserve it.”

(Brian McKnight finishes singing. After that Chun-Li hugs Ken and gives him a nice long kiss on the lips. After about thirty seconds, they break the kiss and everyone in the restaurant applauds.)

Miguel: “Yeah, you all better applaud!”

Ken: “Let’s go, we have more to do.”

Chun-Li: “Does it get any better than this?”

Ken: “It sure as hell does.”

(Ken pays the bill and then him and Chun-Li leave to finish the rest of their date. At around 3:00 AM, they arrive back on campus, where they see Jill and Leon still looking for the fake criminal.)

Miguel: “What idiots, you think they would’ve realized that there is no criminal by now.”

(Ken walks Chun-Li over to her door, as she takes her keys out, she turns to Ken and hugs him again.)

Chun-Li: “I really had a great time tonight.”

Ken: “Me too, we’ll have to do this again sometime.”

Chun-Li: “Most definitely, well I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Ken: “Sleep sweet.”

(They kiss each other good night. As Chun-Li enters her dorm, Ken heads over to his dorm, as he opens the door, he finds Ryu waiting up for him.)

Ken: “You’re still up? We spar tomorrow in the gym, get some sleep!”

Ryu: “Tell me how your date went first.”

Ken: “Oh it awesome, aside from a waiter that tried to eat our food and Dean Akuma in a tutu, everything was great.”

Ryu: “Really, I’ve got time, tell me all about it.”

(Ken starts to tell Ryu about his date, where at the same time in Chun-Li and Sakura’s dorm, Chun-Li tells Sakura about the date.)

Sakura: “Wow, he got Brian McKnight to sing “Back at One” for you, how sweet.”

Chun-Li: “Yeah, he tells me that what he did tonight, he’s never done for any other girl.”

Sakura: “He tells the truth, you’re very special to him”

Chun-Li: “One thing is for sure, it was the best date of my life.”

(Meanwhile, back in Ryu and Ken’s dorm, Ken finishes telling Ryu about the date.)

Ryu: “I’m proud of you Ken, you might actually have a serious girlfriend now.”

Ken: “Yeah finally, no more groupies. I’m so happy.”

(Ken finishes changing into his pajamas, hops into his bed, and turns off the lights. Ryu and Ken then go to sleep.)

Miguel: “Aw that was so romantic, and I’m not too good with romance. But what will happen next? Will Akuma sing again?

Lyrix: “Let’s hope not.”

Miguel: “Agreed, and how far will Ken and Chun-Li’s relationship go? Stay tuned for the next chapter of Capcom U!”

Author’s Note: Well that Ken/Chun-Li pairing is official. Next chapter is back to the oddball comedy. Well I’m off to write the next chapter. Please read and review. Peace!
