Special Moves
Kuzukaze (Foaming
Tempest) – Iori will grab at his opponent, then throw them forcibly behind him.
A special grapple, the Kuzukaze opens up attacks on opponents that are guarding extensively.
100 Shiki: Oniyaki
(Alternate Style of the Kusanagi #100: Demon Scorcher) – Like Kyo’s Oniyaki, Iori will leap up into the air, a
swirl of purple flames surrounding his body, in an uppercut-like fashion. Even
if Iori’s body doesn’t touch its opponent, the Yagami flames are powerful enough to knock his opponent down. It serves as a very nice anti-air attack.
108 Shiki: Yami Barai
(Alternate Style of the Kusanagi #108: Creeping Shadow)- Iori will throw his arm down towards the ground and shoot out a moderate
sized purple blaze towards his opponent. The Yami Barai doesn’t quite act
like a standard projectile in that it travels through the air. Instead it goes
along the ground and must be blocked low.
127 Shiki: Aoi Hana
(Main Style of the Yagami #127: Hollyhock Blossom) – Iori will deliver one uppercut, then a second with the other, knocking
his opponent up into the air, and then finish by lunging at him and smacking him down with a sledgehammer blow. The Aoi Hana suffers from speed, range, and priority, and doesn’t really do much damage. Instead, this serves as one of his more reliable combo-enders.
212 Shiki: Koto Tsuki
In (Inverse Style of the Kusanagi #212: Falling Moon Harp) – Iori rushes forward in an attempt to throw his elbow into
his opponent’s stomach. If it works, he’ll instantly bring his other
arm forward and grab his opponent’s head, slamming them into the pavement. He’ll
then yell “Shi ne! (Die!)” and blow his opponent up with an explosion of Yagami flames. The Kototsuki In is a very fast special move and holds quite a bit of power behind it. However, it doesn’t have much priority.
311 Shiki: Tsumagushi
(Main Style of the Yagami #311: Scorning Talon) – Iori will jump forwards and come down with an overhead strike with
his hand, covered in Yagami flames. The Tsumagushi must be blocked high and can
lead to follow-up moves. It is also a nice pressure tactic.
Super Arts
Kin 1211 Shiki: Ya
Otome (Forbidden Style of the Yagami #1211: Deliverance of the 8 Maidens) – Iori’s infamous move. Iori will bring his arms up above his head in an somewhat off fashion to signal it and yell “Asobi wa owari da! (Playtime is over!)” and then duck down and slide forwards. If he gets close and isn’t blocked, he’ll go into a rage of 8 slashes
while yelling, “Nake, Sakebe, Soshite... (Cry, Scream, then...”. He’ll
then grab his opponent, gather up some of his ki, and finish with, “SHI NE!
(DIE!)” with an explosion of Yagami flames. The Ya Otome is one of the
most feared super arts on the circuit due to it being on of the more powerful Yagami techniques. It is quite powerful by itself and Iori has some invincibility during the dash. However, he isn’t done...
-
Ura 306 Shiki: Saika (Reverse Style
of the Yagami #306: The Shining Jackal) – Right after the blast from the Ya Otome, Iori can follow up the attack with
a downward slash with his hand, then an upwards one (laughing while doing so), sending his opponent up into the air. He’ll then reer back, his whole body turning black for a moment before he bends
down and strikes the ground with both arms, creating a huge column of flames that blasts his opponent away from him. The Saika, unlike times in the past, will connect all the hits as long as Iori’s
opponent isn’t on the ground by the time of the first strike. It adds even
more to the damage done by the Ya Otome, and finishes a rather cool super art.
Ura 108 Shiki: Ya
Sakazuki (Inverse Style of the Yagami: The 8 Chalices of Wine) – Iori will hold a small flame in his hands, which can
be charged the longer he holds it. The longer he holds the flame, the bigger
it becomes. Once he decides to, he’ll launch it to the ground, where it’ll
either make just one column of flames or several, depending on how long he holds it.
The Ya Sakazuki doesn’t do a lot of damage, but if it does connect, Iori’s opponent will become stunned
for about 10 seconds, each second draining a little of his or her strength.
Ura 311 Shiki: Saku
Tsumagushi (Inverse Style of the Yagami #311: Slash of the Scorning Talon) – Iori will yell “Ikuzo! (Let’s go!)” while leaping in the air to perform his Tsumagushi. If he connects, he’ll force his opponent face first into the ground, then yell out as he leaps into
the air, spinning while doing so and holding his opponent by his or her head, Yagami flames surrounding the both of them. Iori will then pitch them away at the peak of his jump. The Saku Tsumagushi has a bit more priority over the normal version and is an overhead. It does descent damage as well and has little cool down if missed.
Hyper Arts
Kin 1211 Shiki: Ya
Otome (Forbidden Style of the Yagami #1211: Deliverance of the Maidens) – The bigger version of the Ya Otome, Iori will
tap into his Orochi Blood and temporarily enter Riot of the Blood. He’ll
then dash forward in similar fashion to the normal Ya Otome, only faster and fully invincible to attacks (he’s still
blockable). If he succeeds, he’ll force his opponent to the ground, where
he’ll slash and pound at his or her hapless body, the last one blowing them away in an explosion of Yagami flames. Of course this is the more powerful version of the already powerful Ya Otome, but
if its blocked, Iori takes a while to recover, which could spell trouble for him.
Kin 1229 Shiki: Enou
Homurakegare (Forbidden Style of the Yagami #1229: Blazing Cup) – In similar fashion to the Saku Tsumagushi, Iori will
yell “Ikuzo!” while coming down with a Tsumagushi right in front of him.
If he isn’t blocked, he’ll slam his opponent to the ground, then pick them up while enveloping himself
and his opponent in a light column of Yagami flames. He’ll then hold them
in his clutches, letting the column perform extensive damage to his opponent for about 5 seconds as it flashes from purple
to normal crimsom, and then he’ll yell “SHI NE!” as he blows them away.
The Enou Homurakegare is a little more powerful than the Hyper version of the Ya Otome, but just like the other, he’ll
be a little vulnerable if blocked.
Chi no Bousou –
Iori will start to freak out while bending over, as if struggling with his Orochi power.
If he is attacked, everything will grow black and (Orochi) Iori will begin to slash viciously at his opponent, ending
with a blood-curling scream as he leaves them on the ground. The Chi no Bousou
is Iori’s most powerful attack and is a counter move. He, of course, won’t
counter throws.
